How a Vursu engagement actually works.

Start to finish. Session by session. With the sample outputs you'll walk away with.

The ladder.

Who shows up. You, your leadership team, and key function owners. 15 to 19 structured interview sessions.

Most engagements start with a Signal on your first call. Readiness Assessment follows if you're serious about an exit in the next 1 to 3 years. Brain Build is most valuable when you start before you list — the earlier you build it, the stronger the asset you bring to market.

What a Brain Build actually covers.

Every Brain Build is organized around 10 analysis pillars. Each pillar gets its own interview sessions, its own question bank, and its own completeness score. No pillar is skipped. Nothing is left to "we'll figure it out as we go."

01

Strategy and Business Model.

How you make money, what makes it durable, where growth actually comes from.

02

Competitive and Industry.

Who you win against, who you lose to, where the industry is heading.

03

Processes.

How the work actually gets done, where the tribal knowledge lives.

04

Financial Performance.

The numbers behind the numbers. Why margins move.

05

Technology and Tools.

What systems run the business, what's glued together, what's at risk.

06

People and Employees.

Who's critical, who's replaceable, what knowledge is stuck in heads.

07

Customer.

Who buys, why they buy, what keeps them, what makes them leave.

08

Departments.

How each function runs, who owns what, what breaks without the owner.

09

Opportunities, Risks and SWOT.

What's upside, what's downside, what's already priced in.

10

KPIs and Metrics.

What gets measured, what should get measured, what a buyer will ask for.

Session by session.

Standard Brain Build runs 6 weeks with 15 to 19 interview sessions. Accelerated (3-week) and Extended (10-week) formats are available for smaller and larger businesses respectively. Every session has a predefined agenda, a question bank, and a captured output. You'll always know what's coming next.

What this actually costs you in time.

You're running a business. We know that. This is what a Brain Build asks of you, and what it doesn't.

What we need from you.

  • 15 to 19 interview sessions over 6 weeks. Most are 60 to 90 minutes.
  • Access to your leadership team and key function owners for their sessions.
  • Access to your systems (Slack, Drive, CRM, ops tools) in read-only mode.
  • Honest answers. The Brain is only as good as what you're willing to tell us.

What we don't need from you.

  • Prepared slides or briefing docs. We'll extract it in conversation.
  • A dedicated project manager on your side. We run the project.
  • Your team to stop what they're doing. Interviews are scheduled around them.
  • Perfect documentation before we start. That's what we build.

Most sellers say the process is the most structured thinking they've done about their business in years. Some say it's the first time.

How we know the Brain is ready to ship.

Before we hand off your Brain, we run it through six quality benchmarks to make sure it's ready for diligence and day-one operations.

No pillar below Partial. Every pillar scores at least a 2 on the 0 to 4 Completeness Scorecard. Any exception requires written seller sign-off.
Triangulation rule. Every factual claim has at least 2 sources, or is flagged as single-source.
Seller verification. All narrative deliverables are reviewed and signed off by the seller before buyer handoff.
10 to 15 recommendations. The Recommendations Package contains between 10 and 15 actionable items. Never more, never fewer.
Documents Dossier. Tier 1 standard diligence docs are 85% or more received, or explicitly marked n/a.
Brain query test. The Brain returns useful responses on 18 of 21 standard buyer queries before it ships.

What happens after handoff.

The Brain Build engagement produces your knowledge asset. What comes next depends on how you want to use it.

Ongoing subscription.

After the Brain Build engagement closes, access to your queryable Brain moves to a monthly subscription. This covers continued access, brain maintenance, and the ability to update entries as your business evolves toward exit.

Subscription pricing is separate from the engagement fee. See our pricing page or ask us on a call.

Integration and listener setup (add-on).

The interview and data collection process delivers a strong, static Brain. If you want your Brain to stay current automatically — pulling from tools like Slack, Google Drive, your CRM, or your ops software — integration and listener setup is scoped as a separate add-on.

Integration setup typically adds 1 to 3 weeks depending on your stack and the number of connections. It is priced separately from the Brain Build engagement and the monthly subscription.
